Dracula:
My headcanons about Ericka Van Helsing (I believed some of them are already canon)
- She was born in the Netherlands.
- The last name “Van Helsing” comes from her father’s side.
- Her favorite flower is the sunflower.
- She prefers salty over sweet flavors.
- She almost doesn’t drink alcohol due to her profession as captain, and if she does drink, she doesn’t tolerate it much.
- She wakes up early and does stretching exercises on a daily basis.
- She believes that wearing white gives her security and control, using white clothes daily unconsciously makes her have greater care about her movements so she doesn’t stain her clothes.
- She speaks Mounting Big Footish of the East (remember how she greeted Big Foot)
- She would have loved to learn ballet or dancing, but her education was focused on other things, so acrobatics was the closest she got.
- She had private teachers because she didn’t go to any school or institute as she spent her whole life in a ship.
-* She mainly had an education more focused in physical training, rougher activities, finances and more focused in learning psychological strategies because she would eventually become the head of the family and had to shape up the next generations.
- She didn’t have a lot of free time, and when she did, she used it to learn other languages, learn astronomy or other disciplines that would help her.
- She considers herself as an atractive woman, and uses that as a weapon (this is canon)
- She loves cheese, for her it’s like dessert and is one of the few things she allows herself to exceed quantity while eating.
- The first person who valued her ideas was Drac, he also was the first person to know her most intimate dreams.
- She hasn’t had any sentimental relationship and experience, the family legacy had her absorbed.
- Despite traveling to lots of harbors around the world, she really doesn’t know them as they were just stopovers. She would like to visit these places and be able to enjoy them.
- She didn’t believe in love.
- Even after falling in love with Drac, she had to surpass her ancient judgments and beliefs about monsters (because of years and years of being brainwashed)
- She knew that one day she would have to get married and have kids to continue the family legacy, but she just thought of it as work and nothing more.
- She didn’t need to have kids to fulfill herself, but with Drac she wouldn’t mind having them. He is the only person she would ever want children with.
- She and Mavis would have had a rocky relationship relationship but would end up being best friends, they went thought the same things by not having their mothers nearby and they understood each other perfectly.
- Ericka’s parents died in some sort of mission or accident.
- Van Helsing gives her the cold treatment so her spirit couldn’t break, something he believed because of ancient teachings in some european countries.
- The eyeshadow that Ericka uses is perfectly calculated to highlight her eyes (read makeup tutorials for blue eyes), all the details in her attire have a reason to be.
- She uses pants because they are practical and allow freedom of movement, things that wouldn’t be possible while wearing a dress and wanted to do some acrobatics.
- She hasn’t done any house work at all, she would like to learn how to cook or do something about it, but these are her weak points.
- Dennis would be an important persona for her, I dare to say that her maternal instinct is satisfied when she is with him.
- Ericka is not good with romanticism, she would try to read poetry books and be more focused in the details.
- She wouldn’t have any problems in becoming a vampire, the only difficult thing about that would be to leave her “identity” behind.
- She is mainly dominant.
- She switches while in intimacy.
- The Martha business is hard to swallow to the point in which she feels more or less compared to her.
- She discovered her portrait while walking around the manor.
- She had guilty conscience about killing Drac and had a very hard time forgiving herself for doing that.
- She would change her last name to Dracula and leave the Van Helsing name behind as and offering for her husband.
- She likes to admire trees.
- She would love to fly as Drac does, though she would also to be able to fly using her own means.
- One of her closest monster friend would be the invisible man.
- She wasn’t 100% sure about being a monster hunter.
- If Ericka hadn’t found Drac, she would have begun taking control of her like as she was fed up with living with her great grandfather.
- She would prefer that her great grandfather didn’t come to the castle.
-She wasn’t permitted to explore any artistic talents of hers.
